If you own an off-road vehicle or just enjoy the 4×4 scene, then there are plenty of ways to share your enthusiasm and test out your driving skills. 4×4 themed festivals and events are now a staple part of the British events calendar, from spring right through until autumn.
There’s everything from extreme challenges to family friendly fun, and stalls where you can pick up accessories and off road vehicle parts. Here’s a look at what’s going on around the UK this season.
The National 4×4 & Camper Festival, Stratford Upon Avon Racecourse, 14-15 June
This is a brand new 4×4 event for 2025, replacing the much loved Adventure Overland Show that has taken place in the spring for the past 14 years. The new festival combines 4x4s and 2WD campervans, and also includes talks and events for those interested in adventure bikes and expedition trucks.
There are camping tickets available for the whole weekend, and pre-event camping passes are available from 10 June onwards. The festival will be a passionate community of 4×4 and campervan owners, and there will be trade stands, talks, and specialised zones for each category of vehicle.
Castlewood 4×4 and Overlander Show, May 10-11, Cheshire
The Castlewood 4×4 Show takes place at the Cheshire Showground near Knutsford in May. It’s a must-do for offroader enthusiasts, with technical and feature displays, 4×4 clubs, live music, children’ s fun and games, and specialist exhibitors. There’s also live vehicle restoration workshops, which are fascinating for both beginners and experts alike.
The highlight of the weekend for many will be the Live Action Arena, where modified off-roaders will be tested to extremes as they tackle a series of formidable objects. There are also auto jumble trade stands, and a fully equipped campsite with a bar, street food vendors, toilet and shower facilities, and night time entertainment.
Land Rover Owner International Show, Sept 6-7, Grantham
The Land Rover Owner International Show 2025 takes place on 6-7 September at Belvoir Castle at Grantham, Lincolnshire. It’s a firm favourite on the 4×4 festival scene, with something for everyone, from casual observers to passionate enthusiasts.
Billed as the UK’s biggest and best Land Rover show, the highlight for many is Saturday night at the Live Action Arena, where off-road vehicles take on extreme challenges under a thrilling laser light display. There’s non-stop action, live music, and a two-minute firework display at a point between 8-30 and 9pm.
Experts and enthusiasts will look forward to the Classic Land Rover Marquee, featuring talks by a line-up of Land Rover specialists over Saturday and Sunday. There are also hundreds of top trade stands and club stands, which are dedicated to single models. For kids, there’s a climbing wall, mini quad bikes, a bungee trampoline, a pirate ship and more.
